I am so sorry to hear of this loss. I have nothing but fond memories of Dave, as a neighbor, coach and man. I can hear his voice coming through my window, distinctly crying out into the night, “MATTHEW!!” He taught me how to properly swing a baseball bat, and encouraged me to pursue excellence in practice in order to reap the benefits in games. From what I could see, he was a great husband and a caring father. He was a man I could look up to, even if from afar. I really enjoyed my last conversation with him a few months ago and am glad to know that he was pursuing God with renewed interest. Our lives are short and difficult, but he had tasted and seen what awaits him and was approaching it with confidence. I am thankful to have known Dave Brandvik and I am mourning with you. I pray that along with the mourning and grief, there is room for celebrating the gift of this man’s life. Feeling the loss with you from Charleston, SC.

Alan Pumphrey says
I had the pleasure back in 84 to work with Dave at EF Hutton. We started our morning fairly early and a group of us would go to the cafeteria to grab a bite to eat. Dave and I always got a half order of biscuits and gravy and black coffee. We had many enjoyable and fun discussions in our little group and times I will never forget. In all my many years in the business I’ve yet to meet anyone that was a finer man than Dave Brandvik
Respectfully,
Alan Pumphrey
